Cláudio Taffarel made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Luis Romero sent off a good shot on target. After 18 played minutes El Renacer del Quijano FC got a freekick which was hit by Carmelo Tibalt. When João Augusto Azevedo came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Noroeste Paulista fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Augusto Azevedo couldn't finish the play. Cláudio Taffarel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luis Romero in the 22nd minute. Wiliam Prata's late challenge caught a El Renacer del Quijano FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wiliam Prata helped the player get up and apologised. Carolo Perico made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geovânio Quirino in the 28th minute of play. After 29 played minutes El Renacer del Quijano FC got a freekick which was hit by Lucas Cristos. Luis Romero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. El Renacer del Quijano FC's Carolo Perico played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovânio Quirino in the 33rd minute of play. When Luis Romero came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the El Renacer del Quijano FC fans jumped to their feet. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Carolo Perico came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by Noroeste Paulista's Geovânio Quirino. But to his dismay, Geovânio Quirino quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. After 58 minutes, Cauã Borges mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Noroeste Paulista and the El Renacer del Quijano FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cauã Borges hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Cláudio Taffarel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luis Romero went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Cláudio Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sergio Damario, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carolo Perico made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geovânio Quirino in the 67th minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, El Renacer del Quijano FC's goal looked a bit too open when João Augusto Azevedo came free, but Carolo Perico reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When El Renacer del Quijano FC's Enrique Ikatz in the 71st minute got a chance for a shot 71st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Noroeste Paulista's goalie prevented a goal. Cláudio Taffarel was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. A collision led to El Renacer del Quijano FC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Anacleto Txaran hit a great ball. When Jailson Penha fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Noroeste Paulista's protests and gave Jailson Penha a yellow card for diving instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Franklin Vander got free with Carolo Perico in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
