The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alonso Villacorta during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A hard shot by Jiang Sang Qing from long distance, 5 minutes into the match, got Carlos Navarro Montoya's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Abandon All Hope's Meng Yan Jing played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan José Ferraro in the 7th minute of play. Gilbert Gorzkiewiczs short, quick shot in the 10thth minute got Carlos Navarro Montoya to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Juan José Ferraro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Meng Yan Jing read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. Juan José Ferraro's late challenge caught a Abandon All Hope's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juan José Ferraro helped the player get up and apologised. 32 minutes into the game, Michal Arendarski recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Carlos Navarro Montoya. Michal Arendarski showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. GuateFortín's Carlos Navarro Montoya proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save GuateFortín from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Abandon All Hope's Cristo Uchiha got a free kick in the 41st minute. Meng Yan Jing showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abraham Santamaria in the 42nd minute of the match. When GuateFortín's Mateo Terciero in the 47th minute got a chance for a shot 47th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Abandon All Hope's goalie prevented a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mateo Terciero in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Meng Yan Jing saved Abandon All Hope from getting behind. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

GuateFortín made a substitution. Miguel Ángel Reguera replaced Juan José Ferraro. A collision led to Abandon All Hope getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Artur Marajda hit a great ball. Miguel Ángel Reguera recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Meng Yan Jing took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Ángel Reguera, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Edgardo Zelaya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Navarro Montoya showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilbert Gorzkiewicz, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Victor Valenzuela charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Victor Valenzuela the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to GuateFortín getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Victor Valenzuela hit a great ball. 84 minutes into the match, GuateFortín's goal looked a bit too open when Ye Hong came free, but Carlos Navarro Montoya reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 85 played minutes GuateFortín got a freekick which was hit by Alonso Villacorta. 91 minutes into the match, Miguel Ángel Reguera dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Meng Yan Jing, 1-1. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Abandon All Hope players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
