Cristi Saron was slow to take the kick. During this time Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's players had a chance to rest. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan José Ferraro in the 13th minute of play forced Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Arthur Bufi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Navarro Montoya showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gwidon Cwojdak in the 15th minute of the match. In the 21stth minute of the game Juan José Ferraro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Arthur Bufi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
