Joshua Anderhub took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 10th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for André Siqueira. Jenipapo SC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. André Siqueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roland Cirella in the 14th minute of play. In the 14th minute, Rômulo Guimarães hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Jenipapo SC's Oscar do Vale got a free kick in the 15th minute. FC Wil 1900's Hannes Saenger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vitinho Vieira in the 33rd minute of play. Despite this Hannes Saenger quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 37th minute, Simão Travassos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 40 minutes into the match, Joshua Anderhub notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Jenipapo SC's André Siqueira. André Siqueira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Hannes Saenger made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luan Vale in the 45th minute. The Jenipapo SC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC Wil 1900 were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Simão Travassos to make the kick off. In the 50th match minute, FC Wil 1900 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luca Parolini to maneuver through the defense. If Dadá Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 67th match minute, Jenipapo SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luan Vale to maneuver through the defense. In the 75th match minute, Jenipapo SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cacá Brodel to maneuver through the defense. After 78 played minutes Jenipapo SC got a freekick which was hit by Rômulo Guimarães. With a little luck, Jenipapo SC's André Siqueira got control of the ball when Karim Gerber tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee ignored FC Wil 1900's protests and gave Popcorn Knoblauch a yellow card for diving instead. Simão Travassos might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hannes Saenger. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Simão Travassos ran back to his position shaking his head. The FC Wil 1900 supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC Wil 1900 would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
