Octavio Ferrer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valentín Barco in the 5th minute of the match. After having played for 29 minutes, Valentín Barco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Abuba Akotonon FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valentín Barco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 42nd match minute, Abuba Akotonon FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Virgilio Corderall to maneuver through the defense. After 45 minutes, Virgilio Corderall mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Abuba Akotonon FC and the Yala players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Yala booed when Abuba Akotonon FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Virgilio Corderall didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 47th minute, Orlando Sustrai left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Yala fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Orlando Sustrai made a kick off. Abuba Akotonon FC's Valentín Barco got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 57th minute, Jorge Nesor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Valentín Barco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octavio Ferrer having to interfere. Octavio Ferrer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edinson Cavani, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Yala's Octavio Ferrer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edinson Cavani in the 66th minute of play. Octavio Ferrer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valentín Barco, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. In the 72nd minute Edinson Cavani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Octavio Ferrer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Octavio Ferrer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benjamin Sotil in the 75th minute of play. Gwendal Puig hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Yala's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
