After 36 played minutes Abuba Akotonon FC got a freekick which was hit by Gaspar Selmo. After some careless play in the LA VIOLA defense, Benjamin Sotil kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sérgio Urbano. The LA VIOLA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sérgio Urbano should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Abuba Akotonon FC booed when LA VIOLA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivar Carlsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Virgilio Corderall's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sérgio Urbano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. In the 45th minute Virgilio Corderall shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sérgio Urbano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benjamin Sotil received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Sérgio Urbano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Virgilio Corderall to make the kick off. Tuna Tunander's late challenge caught a Abuba Akotonon FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tuna Tunander helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to LA VIOLA getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Tuna Tunander hit a great ball. Valentín Barco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sérgio Urbano made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Valentín Barco sent off a good shot on target. In the 72nd minute Edinson Cavani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sérgio Urbano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Valentín Barco kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sérgio Urbano. That made the score 0-3 in the 79 minute of play. In the 83rd match minute, LA VIOLA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Per-Oskar Ståhlman to maneuver through the defense. In the 87th match minute, Abuba Akotonon FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaspar Selmo to maneuver through the defense.
