In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Fausto George, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Wilfredo Etxahun could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Cezary Sitko made a huge save. The supporters of Sporting de Gijón booed when MKS Mazur Ełk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juliusz Jerzyk didn't get a good kick on the ball. 47 minutes into the match, Armando Dorigatti had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fausto George. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wilfredo Etxahun made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Armando Dorigatti in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fausto George saved Sporting de Gijón from getting behind. 57 minutes into the match, MKS Mazur Ełk's goal looked a bit too open when Blas-Armando Giunta came free, but Cezary Sitko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sporting de Gijón's defense didn't have a chance, in the 58th minute, when Armando Dorigatti scored to the left of an out of position Fausto George, making the score, 1-3. After a defensive mix-up in Sporting de Gijón's zone, Armando Dorigatti stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fausto George came out of the goal and Armando Dorigatti tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. MKS Mazur Ełk made a substitution. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Armando Dorigatti took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Fausto George to make any attempt to save it. 81 minutes into the game, Armando Dorigatti recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Fausto George. Armando Dorigatti showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-5. In the 87th minute, MKS Mazur Ełk's Armando Dorigatti ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fausto George. Fausto George yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-6. Fausto George made an important save on a dangerous shot by Armando Dorigatti in the 96th minute. Mauro Perez hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. MKS Mazur Ełk had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
