Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Daustad's Fridtjof Ferstad started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fridtjof Ferstad in the 3rd minute of play forced Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Fausto George to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sporting de Gijón's Fausto George played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fridtjof Ferstad in the 7th minute of play. In the 17th minute Celedonio Kinsen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karsten Hveding saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 22nd minute Sporting de Gijón were awarded a corner. Wilfredo Etxahun went to the cornerflag to take it. Frode Fossan hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Sporting de Gijón's Fausto George proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Sporting de Gijón from getting a goal against them. Daustad were awarded a corner in the 30th minute after Sporting de Gijón's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Lars Obrestad took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Lars Obrestad got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Fausto George quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With a little luck, Sporting de Gijón's Fausto George got control of the ball when Tord Sundnes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fausto George showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fridtjof Ferstad, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Daustad's zone, Eloy Timo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Karsten Hveding came out of the goal and Eloy Timo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 35th match minute, Sporting de Gijón was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Medina to maneuver through the defense. Wilfredo Etxahun blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Karsten Hveding having to make a save. Tord Sundnes in the 45thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Fausto George, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Lars Juul charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lars Juul the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Lars Juul kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wilfredo Etxahun to strike the kick off in the second half. Peder Tveita's late challenge caught a Sporting de Gijón's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Peder Tveita helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Daustad's Peder Tveita got a free kick in the 53rd minute. 54 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's Wilfredo Etxahun sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Karsten Hveding narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 62 played minutes Daustad got a freekick which was hit by Lars Juul. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mauro Perez got free with Karsten Hveding in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sporting de Gijón's Fausto George played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tord Sundnes in the 65th minute of play. Wilfredo Etxahun kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Sporting de Gijón's Aaron Anselmino was substituted for Eloy Timo. In the 68th minute, Wilfredo Etxahun hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 69 played minutes, Daustad's Peder Tveita shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fausto George came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Daustad reached it. The supporters of Daustad booed when Sporting de Gijón was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Blas-Armando Giunta didn't get a good kick on the ball. 72 minutes into the match, Fridtjof Ferstad had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fausto George. Sporting de Gijón's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fridtjof Ferstad was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 75th minute Tord Sundnes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fausto George saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 76 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's goal looked a bit too open when Fridtjof Ferstad came free, but Fausto George reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilfredo Etxahun might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Karsten Hveding. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wilfredo Etxahun ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Sporting de Gijón's Lautaro Blanco got a free kick in the 86th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fridtjof Ferstad in the 87th minute of play forced Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Fausto George to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wilfredo Etxahun recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Daustad booed when Sporting de Gijón was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lautaro Blanco didn't get a good kick on the ball.
