Rolando Sedeni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thommy Pelgrims, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th minute, 0 descensos's Angelino Joanes seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Angelino Joanes the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of 0 descensos protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Angelino Joanes had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 16th minute of the game. One of 0 descensos:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Brugge United:s goal. 0 descensos:s Rolando Sedeni showed great skill when he stopped Binjamin Denturck:s penalty. In the 27th minute, Jacobo Oxel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aldo Candal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacobo Oxel in the 31st minute of play. Brugge United's Aldo Candal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Faustino Frederico in the 35th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Thommy Pelgrims got free with Rolando Sedeni in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Roth Prot's late challenge caught a 0 descensos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roth Prot helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of 0 descensos booed when Brugge United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roth Prot didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Constant Vanden Broucke got free with Rolando Sedeni in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Arturo Estevez made the kick off in the second half. Jacobo Oxel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Aldo Candal made a huge save. After having played for 55 minutes, Thommy Pelgrims managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brugge United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thommy Pelgrims was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rosendo Benitez hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. After 58 played minutes, Brugge United's Binjamin Denturck shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rolando Sedeni came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Brugge United reached it. The supporters of 0 descensos booed when Brugge United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dan Reijnders didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 71 minutes, Alberto Lohitzun mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the 0 descensos and the Brugge United players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 71st minute, Alberto Lohitzun hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee ignored Brugge United's protests and gave Constant Vanden Broucke a yellow card for diving instead. Constant Vanden Broucke kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. In the 82nd minute, Mickael Theunis made a precise shot to the right of Rolando Sedeni. 0 descensos's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0.
