In the 5th minute Tory Pryor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvaro Rotili saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, FC Wil 1900's goal looked a bit too open when Alexander Bottone came free, but Lionel Paly reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lionel Paly didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alexander Bottone went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Alvaro Rotili took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pirmin Jäggi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alvaro Rotili showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tory Pryor, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alexander Bottone in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lionel Paly prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A.S. Udinese were awarded a corner in the 21th minute after FC Wil 1900's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cristiano Paolucci took the corner. Alvaro Rotili took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pirmin Jäggi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26thth minute of the game Alexander Bottone who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Wil 1900's Lionel Paly was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. FC Wil 1900's Emery Heller pulled a muscle in his leg after 27 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Dino Pozzoli charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dino Pozzoli the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 27th minute of the game. One of A.S. Udinese:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC Wil 1900:s goal. A.S. Udinese:s Alvaro Rotili showed great skill when he stopped Téo Rosa:s penalty. In the 31st minute of the match, Alexander Bottone tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Lionel Paly saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 36 minutes into the match, A.S. Udinese's Alexander Bottone sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lionel Paly narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 37 minutes into the match, Matthäus Bolliger notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of A.S. Udinese's Alvaro Rotili. Alvaro Rotili was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alexander Bottone in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lionel Paly prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alexander Bottone recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 45 minutes into the game, Pirmin Jäggi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Wil 1900's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave A.S. Udinese the free kick. A.S. Udinese's Tom Pervik was substituted for Bruno Maranzano. After the first half FC Wil 1900 were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tory Pryor to make the kick off. A collision led to FC Wil 1900 getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Curtiz Klein hit a great ball. 57 minutes into the match, A.S. Udinese's goal looked a bit too open when Téo Rosa came free, but Alvaro Rotili reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexander Bottone in the 59th minute of play forced FC Wil 1900's goalkeeper Lionel Paly to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, FC Wil 1900's Curtiz Klein got a free kick in the 61st minute. A.S. Udinese's Augusto Clemente was substituted for Cristiano Paolucci. After some careless play in the FC Wil 1900 defense, Augusto Clemente kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lionel Paly. The FC Wil 1900 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lionel Paly should have stopped the shot. In the 80th minute, Ercole Fiorentino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Curtiz Klein made in the 82nd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Ivan Dové immediately put the ball in play. Lionel Paly took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ercole Fiorentino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 89 minutes, Ercole Fiorentino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. A.S. Udinese's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ercole Fiorentino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, A.S. Udinese's Alvaro Rotili got control of the ball when Tory Pryor tried to sneak it across the goal line. 93 minutes in the game Curtiz Klein did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Ivan Dové. A.S. Udinese's attentive Olivér Bierhoff managed to snatch the ball when Ivan Dové made a throw-in in the 96th minute of the game.
