The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 23rd minute of the game. One of La Scaloneta:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of MOEBIO:s goal. In the 24th minute, the referee gave MOEBIO a penalty. Ivan Reno looked confident and blasted the ball into goal by the left post, totally unstoppable for Franco Moscatelli. MOEBIO's Jan Fleszar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilberto Izel in the 27th minute of play. Franco Moscatelli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hao Fan Chuan in the 28th minute of play. La Scaloneta's Franco Moscatelli proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save La Scaloneta from getting a goal against them. The supporters of MOEBIO booed when La Scaloneta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vinícius Junior didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 37 minutes, Hao Fan Chuan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MOEBIO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hao Fan Chuan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hao Fan Chuan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Franco Moscatelli read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. In the 39thth minute of the game Hao Fan Chuan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but La Scaloneta's Franco Moscatelli was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jan Fleszar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilberto Izel, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Vuk Urgovski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Franco Moscatelli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
