Dario Gaizko's late challenge caught a Club Sportivo Italiano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Club Sportivo Italiano's defense didn't have a chance, in the 16th minute, when Martin Asier scored to the left of an out of position Reynaldo Stephen, making the score, 1-0. Leones FC's Leopoldo Lastur played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evelio Pes in the 20th minute of play. Theo Hayles struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Leopoldo Lastur didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Sportivo Italiano. 34 minutes into the game, Evelio Pes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Leopoldo Lastur was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 38 minutes into the match, Leones FC's goal looked a bit too open when Theo Hayles came free, but Leopoldo Lastur reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Leones FC getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Jeremias Cisco hit a great ball. In the 48th minute Theo Hayles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leopoldo Lastur saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

After 51 played minutes Leones FC got a freekick which was hit by Jeremias Cisco.
