Igor Cordaro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Faustino Cedro in the 24th minute of play. Şenol Güneş made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antônio Santos in the 26th minute. Antônio Santos might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Şenol Güneş. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Antônio Santos ran back to his position shaking his head. Şenol Güneş took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antônio Santos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32nd minute Antônio Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Şenol Güneş saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Antônio Santos in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Şenol Güneş prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 41st minute, Faustino Cedro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Antônio Santos to make the kick off. Şenol Güneş stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Antônio Santos's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. The LOS MENTI fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Şenol Güneş should have stopped the shot. Joel Omero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Joel Omero came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Noqueces FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Omero couldn't finish the play. In the 94th minute, Marco George made a precise shot to the right of Igor Cordaro. Noqueces FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. LOS MENTI's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
