Horacio Jesus Urruticoechea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Delmar Berenguer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 8th minute Dino Scapini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aigeus Milionis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Wawrzyniec Lewandowski put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Horacio Jesus Urruticoechea. In the 15th minute of the match Cobresal got a corner. Hahay's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. In the 17thth minute of the game Wawrzyniec Lewandowski who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cobresal's Horacio Jesus Urruticoechea was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 17 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Wawrzyniec Lewandowski sped through Cobresal's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Horacio Jesus Urruticoechea. The audience was convinced that Gregorio Quintero's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aigeus Milionis was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gregorio Quintero was the one to do the kick off. Aigeus Milionis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gregorio Quintero went, in the 50th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Danilo Diaz de Valdes in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aigeus Milionis saved Hahay from getting behind. Aigeus Milionis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gregorio Quintero went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-2 was the resulting score. Hahay's Konrad Hatman was substituted for Segundo Videl. Waldemar Banaszak's late challenge caught a Cobresal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Waldemar Banaszak helped the player get up and apologised. Aigeus Milionis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gregorio Quintero, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. The supporters of Hahay booed when Cobresal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Renato Cesarini didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Blažej Ravanelli managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hahay's supporters rose to their feet, but Blažej Ravanelli was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Horacio Jesus Urruticoechea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Aigeus Milionis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kenny McCormick in the 95th minute of play. There was no doubt that Cobresal were the better team. Cobresal's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
