The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rhys Dimmock showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lluis Companys, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. After 4 minutes Zamalek FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Narciso Noe who took care of the corner kick. Albino Olayo made a great header on KaoS Futbol Club's corner, it was just that Zamalek FC's Rhys Dimmock managed to reach the ball for a save. The supporters of KaoS Futbol Club booed when Zamalek FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sergey Krasinskiy didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 32 played minutes KaoS Futbol Club got a freekick which was hit by Zeledon Tabb. Rhys Dimmock showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Igor Lebas in the 36th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Mugurel Balaeț managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zamalek FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mugurel Balaeț was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pierluigi Buffon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 46 minutes into the game, Diogo Queirós was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Zamalek FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KaoS Futbol Club the free kick. After 46 played minutes Zamalek FC got a freekick which was hit by Diogo Queirós. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Mugurel Balaeț made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, KaoS Futbol Club's Lluis Companys sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rhys Dimmock narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 55th minute of the game, Zhao Bing Cheng landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. After 55 minutes, Mugurel Balaeț mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Zamalek FC and the KaoS Futbol Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. KaoS Futbol Club made a substitution. Andres Baresi replaced Zhao Bing Cheng. After a rather tough play, KaoS Futbol Club's Noel Hargrave got a free kick in the 59th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Igor Lebas in the 64th minute of play forced Zamalek FC's goalkeeper Rhys Dimmock to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Zamalek FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for KaoS Futbol Club.
