Valencia CF Mindszent's Silvestre Pacorro quite brazenly broke a throw-in by 卓伟崇, made in the 12th minute of the game. In the 20th minute Gábor Joó shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Washington de Lara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Washington de Lara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gábor Joó in the 25th minute of play. Rene Higuita had great luck who in the 28thth minute grab hold of the ball when Ruperto Naike from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. André Maraschins short, quick shot in the 29thth minute got Rene Higuita to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. André Maraschin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Rene Higuita when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Gábor Joó's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Washington de Lara read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Valencia CF Mindszent's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Maurício Monsanto in the 32nd minute. A nice corner shot did that Maurício Monsanto got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Washington de Lara quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Christos Xenidis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Washington de Lara read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Gábor Joó's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Washington de Lara was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. Washington de Lara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gábor Joó in the 37th minute of the match. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gábor Joó was the one to do the kick off. When the match had gone on for 79 minutes, Konstantin Fitos put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Washington de Lara.
