GuateFortín's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gustavo Barros Schelotto ran over to the corner to take the kick. Fabio Huezo tried in the 15th minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Nery Pumpido a with quite unnecessary self made goal. Result 1-0. Aureliano Buendia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nery Pumpido having to make a save. 17 minutes into the match, GuateFortín's goalkeeper Nery Pumpido had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aureliano Buendia. Geronimo Eleazar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zico Zellier in the 21st minute of play. After 23 minutes, Rafael Lopez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Albardón F.C and the GuateFortín players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Albardón F.C getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Rafael Lopez hit a great ball. Albardón F.C's 张星彬 quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Heriberto Correa, made in the 26th minute of the game. Geronimo Eleazar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven-Edvin Jansson in the 29th minute of the match. In the 39th minute, Bartolomé Companys hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 41 minutes in the game Heriberto Correa did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Sven-Edvin Jansson. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven-Edvin Jansson in the 42nd minute of play forced Albardón F.C's goalkeeper Geronimo Eleazar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nery Pumpido made a fantastic save in the 48th minute, when Aureliano Buendia sent off a good shot on target. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 55th minute Angel Alvarenga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geronimo Eleazar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Geronimo Eleazar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thierry Henry, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 60th minute, Xandro Sacristán hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Albardón F.C's Eusebio Lucero was substituted for Rafael Lopez. GuateFortín made a substitution.
