FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Baldomiro Txindoki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bart Pellen in the 4th minute of play. 5 minutes into the match, Candelaria FC's goalkeeper Danilo Testa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Petrică Cândreanu. The supporters of FC UNIREA Alba Iulia booed when Candelaria FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bart Pellen didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnaldo Marquez in the 9th minute of play forced FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goalkeeper Baldomiro Txindoki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Danilo Testa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Petrică Cândreanu in the 13th minute of the match. Baldomiro Txindoki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnaldo Marquez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wilson Arósio's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Danilo Testa firmly grabbed it by the left post. 27 minutes into the match, Candelaria FC's goal looked a bit too open when Orçun Yalınalp came free, but Danilo Testa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goal looked a bit too open when Sven-Olof Sjöberg came free, but Baldomiro Txindoki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 30th minute Arnaldo Marquez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baldomiro Txindoki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jefferson de Sena made a great header on Candelaria FC's corner, it was just that FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Baldomiro Txindoki managed to reach the ball for a save. With a little luck, Candelaria FC's Danilo Testa got control of the ball when Petrică Cândreanu tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Orçun Yalınalp kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Danilo Testa. That made the score 1-0 in the 38 minute of play. Danilo Testa was a little too slow when Petrică Cândreanu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 44th minute. The score was now 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arnaldo Marquez to make the kick off. In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goalkeeper Baldomiro Txindoki, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Danilo Testa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iulian Pietreanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia were awarded a corner in the 59th minute after Candelaria FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Petrică Cândreanu took the corner. The corner led FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Petrică Cândreanu to fire away a dangerous shot which Danilo Testa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Okanalp Özdils short, quick shot in the 76thth minute got Baldomiro Txindoki to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 78th minute, Okanalp Özdil got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 80 minutes into the match, Candelaria FC's goal looked a bit too open when Iulian Pietreanu came free, but Danilo Testa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Danilo Testa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iulian Pietreanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. 86 minutes into the match, Candelaria FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wilson Arósio came free, but Danilo Testa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
