The supporters of Los Delfines booed when Farafulla FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donato Berardi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Angelo Boni was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Oscar Orzaize. In the 36th minute Andriy Shevchenko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matías Patrone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Matías Patrone showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Behçet Alp in the 38th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Behçet Alp in the 39th minute of play forced Los Delfines's goalkeeper Matías Patrone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Hector Abadia could shoot a difficult shot in the 41st minute, which Angelo Boni however easily saved by the left post. Oliver Bierhoff who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 46thth minute tested the skills of Angelo Boni when he managed to save the team from getting behind.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Andriy Shevchenko was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arquímedes Cesario in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Angelo Boni prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Arquímedes Cesario struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Angelo Boni didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Delfines.
