The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jérémie Boix in the 6th minute of play forced Merengue FC's goalkeeper Mateo Llorienzo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ismael Frances hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. If Darwin Núñez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Asiz Soon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Mateo Llorienzo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Domingo Jago couldn't finish the play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aquiles Urtsin made a kick off. Atahan Balon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aquiles Urtsin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Los Muchachos del 86's Atahan Balon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Darwin Núñez in the 52nd minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 54th minute of the game. One of Merengue FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Los Muchachos del 86:s goal. Mateo Llorienzo had in the 56thth minute some difficulties stopping Saverio Brion's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. If Darwin Núñez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Merengue FC were furious when Raimundo Gonsalvo was red carded, 71 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Los Muchachos del 86 made a substitution. Sander Tielemans replaced Asiz Soon. After 70 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Merengue FC! The goalkeeper, Mateo Llorienzo, was totally fooled by Los Muchachos del 86's Efrain Jacob, who 74 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Fabio Bencivenni got in the 77th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Mateo Llorienzo handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. The Los Muchachos del 86 fans' excitement grew in the 77th match minute when Los Muchachos del 86's Fabio Bencivenni looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Cristian Urtzi charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cristian Urtzi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Fabio Bencivenni could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Mateo Llorienzo made a huge save. Mateo Llorienzo came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Los Muchachos del 86's Efrain Jacob. But to his dismay, Efrain Jacob quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sander Tielemans in the 97th minute of play forced Merengue FC's goalkeeper Mateo Llorienzo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 100 minutes, Efrain Jacob put it in 1-4 from a short distance just to the right of Mateo Llorienzo. When the match was over Los Muchachos del 86 could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Merengue FC throughout the match.
