Alexis Hoover hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Guilherme Veiga came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by MIT's Tiberiu Caramarin. But to his dismay, Tiberiu Caramarin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Guilherme Veiga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiberiu Caramarin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Florin Seremet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiberiu Caramarin in the 23rd minute of play forced Racing Miami Futbol Club's goalkeeper Guilherme Veiga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 33 minutes, Guilherme Veiga successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Mihăiţă Ilarie's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Guilherme Veiga firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 43rd minute Rodney Hagen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Calistrat Madgearu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Racing Miami Futbol Club's Romeo Zeigler got a free kick in the 47th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tiberiu Caramarin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Trey Echols shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Calistrat Madgearu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Racing Miami Futbol Club's Chance Adams was substituted for Osvaldinho Ósvaldsson. After 64 played minutes Racing Miami Futbol Club got a freekick which was hit by Alexis Hoover. Tiberiu Caramarin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guilherme Veiga having to interfere. Tiberiu Caramarin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Guilherme Veiga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. The supporters of MIT booed when Racing Miami Futbol Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tyrone Terrell didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chance Adams in the 88th minute of play forced MIT's goalkeeper Calistrat Madgearu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
