Go Ahead Eagles's Scarafia Ghost proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Go Ahead Eagles from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, CE LAJEADENSE RS's Emil Fărcășan got a free kick in the 13th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erling Lewandowski in the 17th minute of play forced CE LAJEADENSE RS's goalkeeper Christian Orlan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christian Orlan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Facundo Bot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Christian Orlan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erling Lewandowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Scarafia Ghost took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Udo Nigula, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Christian Orlan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Facundo Bot in the 26th minute of play. In the 27th minute Erling Lewandowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Orlan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 29 minutes, Jhon Arias mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CE LAJEADENSE RS and the Go Ahead Eagles players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jhon Arias kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. If Cássio Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Leo Iigo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 34thth minute, Scarafia Ghost skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 36 minutes into the match, Go Ahead Eagles's Facundo Bot sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Christian Orlan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Facundo Bot in the 40th minute of play forced CE LAJEADENSE RS's goalkeeper Christian Orlan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 44 minutes into the match, CE LAJEADENSE RS's goal looked a bit too open when Facundo Bot came free, but Christian Orlan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 46 played minutes CE LAJEADENSE RS got a freekick which was hit by Mauricio Bitxintxo. In the 47th minute Facundo Bot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Orlan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Facundo Bot stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. During the 54th minute of the match Emil Fărcășan completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Emil Fărcășan a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 55th match minute, CE LAJEADENSE RS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emil Fărcășan to maneuver through the defense. If Facundo Bot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Go Ahead Eagles's Iustin Bâru was substituted for Erling Lewandowski. In the 61st minute Iustin Bâru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Orlan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. CE LAJEADENSE RS's Christian Orlan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iustin Bâru in the 67th minute of play. In the 72nd minute, Iustin Bâru ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Christian Orlan was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. CE LAJEADENSE RS's Bater Palma was substituted for Udo Nigula. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernando Amorebieta in the 77th minute of play forced CE LAJEADENSE RS's goalkeeper Christian Orlan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th play minute Fernando Amorebieta came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Christian Orlan. 0-2. After a rather tough play, CE LAJEADENSE RS's Leo Iigo got a free kick in the 81st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Facundo Bot got free with Christian Orlan in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 85 minutes of play, CE LAJEADENSE RS's Zhuo Chao Chuan made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Scarafia Ghost was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when Facundo Bot got free with Christian Orlan in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 90 minutes into the game, Go Ahead Eagles's Fernando Amorebieta nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Christian Orlan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Facundo Bot in the 94th minute of play forced CE LAJEADENSE RS's goalkeeper Christian Orlan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Go Ahead Eagles supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Go Ahead Eagles would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
