Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Venezuela's Tomas Illescas started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Arquímedes Ladio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Arquímedes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. 5 minutes into the game, Camilo Gaos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Arquímedes the free kick. Arquímedes made a substitution. Victorino Bonadona replaced Domingo Librado. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Camilo Gaos got a free kick in the 6th minute. When Arquímedes's Arquímedes Ladio in the 7th minute got a chance for a shot 7th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. After 12 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. Through an outstanding action, after 15 minutes, Jonathan Ferrant successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Ramon Abila received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. Tomas Illescas took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jeremias Cordario. Jeremias Cordario dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Ramon Abila kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 2-1 in the 28 minute of play. Fernando Nabar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arquímedes Ladio got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jeremias Cordario having to make a save. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramon Abila, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. In the 45th minute, Venezuela's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Arquímedes Ladio fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After having played for 47 minutes, Ramon Abila managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arquímedes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ramon Abila was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arquímedes Ladio to strike the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arquímedes Ladio in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. After 59 minutes of play, Arquímedes's Arquímedes Ladio made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 61st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arquímedes Ladio in the 66th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jeremias Cordario showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 69th minute of the match. Venezuela were awarded a corner in the 70th minute after Arquímedes's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tomas Illescas took the corner. When Patricio Costa came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patricio Costa couldn't finish the play. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arquímedes Ladio in the 73rd minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victorino Bonadona, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Arquímedes's Victorino Bonadona. But to his dismay, Victorino Bonadona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. The supporters of Arquímedes booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rigoberto Mina didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Danilo Olayo in the 79th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81st minute Arquímedes Ladio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 85th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 87th minute Arquímedes Ladio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victorino Bonadona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 94 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Arquímedes Ladio came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Arquímedes Ladio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Arquímedes had played much better football throughout.
