The crowd rose to their feet as Mexico's Joel Gaona slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Oséas Albuquerque. That made the score 0-2 after 56 minutes of play. 65 minutes into the match, Natanael Furlan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Natanael Furlan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Cerezuela in the 68th minute of the match.
