Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brooks Willison in the 15th minute of the match. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Mauro Boselli sent off a good shot on target. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brooks Willison in the 21st minute of play. The audience was convinced that Daniel Zorita's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ismael Vellito was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. After 31 minutes, Réda Kolb made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 49th minute of play forced Shuspendemo's goalkeeper Ismael Vellito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Mauro Boselli made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Réda Kolb in the 52nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Réda Kolb kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauro Boselli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Shuspendemo's Ismael Vellito proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Shuspendemo from getting a goal against them. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Ismael Vellito made a huge save. In the 68th minute Enrique Silban shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Shuspendemo's Ismael Vellito proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Shuspendemo from getting a goal against them. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 87 minutes into the game, Luis Andino recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ismael Vellito. Luis Andino showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-2. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Ismael Vellito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lisandro Martínez's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lisandro Martínez helped the player get up and apologised. Shuspendemo's defense didn't have a chance, in the 95th minute, when Cristian Sancho scored to the left of an out of position Ismael Vellito, making the score, 3-3. Ecuador were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
