The Zero Hedge fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wiktor Wallander should have stopped the shot. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 7 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wiktor Wallander. Wiktor Wallander dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 13 minutes into the match, Zero Hedge's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Wiktor Wallander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 15th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Zero Hedge was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hans Nordström didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 17th minute of the match Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Wiktor Wallander showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wiktor Wallander having to interfere. In the 28th minute, Karl Lindström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zero Hedge's Wiktor Wallander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 32nd minute of play. In the 33rd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wiktor Wallander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Åke Jansson to strike the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 57th minute, which Wiktor Wallander however easily saved by the left post. 67 minutes into the game, Karl Lindström was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Zero Hedge's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. A collision led to Zero Hedge getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Karl Lindström hit a great ball. 71 minutes into the match, Zero Hedge's goalkeeper Wiktor Wallander had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. In the 72nd minute, Karl-Ove Engström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Wiktor Wallander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 76 minutes, Åke Jansson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Zero Hedge throughout the match.
