Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 曲远鸿 in the 25th minute of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. In the 38th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Zorita to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 41 minutes play.
