Spectators: 52 (Terracing: 39, Seating: 12, VIP seats: 1) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Garth Brough got the match started through his kick off. Jorge Sainz's late challenge caught a Australian Youth Academy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorge Sainz helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Jorge Sainz hit a great ball. Joaquin Gayoso was out of position in the 6 minute of play, and Garth Brough capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Garth Brough really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ellis Hoskin, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Gabriel Martini kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Roy Baba made in the 22nd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Garth Brough. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 24th minute of the game. One of Uruguay:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Australian Youth Academy:s goal. Uruguay:s Joaquin Gayoso showed great skill when he stopped Garth Brough:s penalty. Garth Brough did an outstanding performance 27 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 3-1 to the right of an irritated Joaquin Gayoso in the goal. Maximiliano Escribano scored 3-2 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Keylor Navas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Garth Brough blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joaquin Gayoso having to make a save. In the 41st minute of the match, Garth Brough got a very nice opportunity to score, but Joaquin Gayoso was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Garth Brough sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Uruguay's zone, Garth Brough stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal and Garth Brough tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Uruguay defense, Garth Brough kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. The Uruguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Gayoso should have stopped the shot. Joaquin Gayoso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Garth Brough's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. In the 67th minute, Garth Brough left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Australian Youth Academy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-3. Fletcher Baba hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Arturo Carvallo got a free kick in the 72nd minute. In the 77th minute of the game Arturo Carvallo made a throw-in which Jaime Cazalla played forward. Francisco Seco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fletcher Baba in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joaquin Gayoso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 81st minute, Garth Brough ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joaquin Gayoso was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-3. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fletcher Baba in the 84th minute of play. In the 87th minute, Garth Brough ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joaquin Gayoso was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-3. Garth Brough scored 8-3 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joaquin Gayoso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. For all the effort they put into the match, the Uruguay players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Australian Youth Academy.
