After 4 minutes of play, Uruguay's Francisco Seco made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zé Sabóia was left in no man's land by his defense there! Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseu Fonseca in the 7th minute of play. Zé Sabóia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Gisbert in the 12th minute of the match. Saiko FC's Zé Sabóia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Seco in the 15th minute of play. The throw-in from Sixto Ondino in the 19th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Uruguay's Alberto Gisbert. Francisco Seco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Zé Sabóia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zé Sabóia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Francisco Seco's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Francisco Seco put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Zé Sabóia. Francisco Seco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Sabóia having to interfere. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Uruguay from getting a goal against them. Zé Sabóia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Eliseu Fonseca came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Saiko FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eliseu Fonseca couldn't finish the play. Mateus Catarinense hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Francisco Seco made a kick off. Eliseu Fonseca took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joaquin Gayoso. Joaquin Gayoso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. In the 60th minute Maximiliano Escribano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Sabóia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Saiko FC's Zé Sabóia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Saiko FC from getting a goal against them. In the 66th minute, Eliseu Fonseca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Saiko FC getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Jairo Trancoso hit a great ball. In the 74th minute, Kevin Carballal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Walmir Garcia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 78 minutes into the game, Eliseu Fonseca cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Joaquin Gayoso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Jairo Trancoso fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Saiko FC's protests and gave Jairo Trancoso a yellow card for diving instead. Jairo Trancoso kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. 84 minutes had been played when some careless play by Saiko FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jaime Cazalla was slow to take the kick. During this time Uruguay's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Jaime Cazalla almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Saiko FC's Zé Sabóia did a great save. If Walmir Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Francisco Seco's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 94thth minute, Zé Sabóia skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Despite being the better team, Uruguay failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
