Jan Hendrik Lange could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. 32 minutes into the match, Vamos Los Pibes!!!!'s goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Eliseo Sagrario reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 34 minutes into the game, Jan Hendrik Lange lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Julio Vera. Eliseo Sagrario came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jan Hendrik Lange went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

In the 53rd minute, Felix Montenegro made a precise shot to the right of Eliseo Sagrario. Vamos Los Pibes!!!!'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. In the 59th minute, Jan Hendrik Lange left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vamos Los Pibes!!!! fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. The supporters of Vamos Los Pibes!!!! booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Primitivo Andino hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Daniel Zorita kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Eliseo Sagrario. That made the score 3-3 in the 70 minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Aquilino Bittor managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vamos Los Pibes!!!!'s supporters rose to their feet, but Aquilino Bittor was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 81 minutes into the match, Vamos Los Pibes!!!!'s goalkeeper Eliseo Sagrario had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan Hendrik Lange in the 82nd minute of play. In the 84th minute Aquilino Bittor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 84 minutes into the game, Vamos Los Pibes!!!!'s Aquilino Bittor nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-3. Vamos Los Pibes!!!!'s Eliseo Sagrario played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 88th minute of play. In the 90th minute Cristian Beliran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eliseo Sagrario was out of position in the 94 minute of play, and Cristian Sancho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cristian Sancho really showed his touch with that goal: 4-4.
