Enrique Enoch was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. union española s.a.'s Enrique Enoch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 10th minute of play. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stig Malmgren in the 12th minute of play. In the 15th play minute Stig Malmgren came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Thiago Pliego. 1-2. Stig Malmgren blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Thiago Pliego having to make a save. If Stig Malmgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 30 minutes into the match, union española s.a.'s Stig Malmgren sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thiago Pliego narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Stig Malmgren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 35th minute, Orlando Casaus made a precise shot to the right of Enrique Enoch. union española s.a.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. In the 38thth minute of the game Mariano Lacasa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but union española s.a.'s Enrique Enoch was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Enrique Enoch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Indiano in the 40th minute of the match. In the 41st minute of the match Chile got a corner. union española s.a.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mariano Lacasa ran over to the corner to take the kick. Stig Malmgren's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thiago Pliego read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. After 46 played minutes Chile got a freekick which was hit by Jose Manzanedo. After the first half Chile were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stig Malmgren to make the kick off. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stig Malmgren, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Enrique Enoch read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Mariano Lacasa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Enrique Enoch made a huge save. In the 57th minute, Cecilio Magalhaes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. union española s.a.'s Enrique Enoch proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save union española s.a. from getting a goal against them. In the 59th minute, Chile's Guillermo Fontirroig dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-4. The union española s.a. fans' excitement grew in the 65th match minute when union española s.a.'s Stig Malmgren looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of Chile booed when union española s.a. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zenaido Vigil didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, union española s.a.'s Enrique Enoch got control of the ball when Mariano Lacasa tried to sneak it across the goal line. 79 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Stig Malmgren came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chile's attentive Jose Manzanedo managed to snatch the ball when Zenaido Vigil made a throw-in in the 81st minute of the game. In the 83rd minute Stig Malmgren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Enrique Enoch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Orlando Casaus, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Enrique Enoch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 88th minute of play. Stig Malmgren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Chile would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
