Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cristian Sancho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-2. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Felix Montes hit a great ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathan Sammut in the 92nd minute of play. 93 minutes into the game, Staffan Apelqvist was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Templars FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. In the 94th minute, Staffan Apelqvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Felix Montenegro made in the 96th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Daniel Zorita. The Templars FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
