After some careless play in the Champions Iasi defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Broderick Ceney. The Champions Iasi fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Broderick Ceney should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Champions Iasi's Pavel Buculeasa got a free kick in the 19th minute. Champions Iasi's Broderick Ceney played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 20th minute of play. Broderick Ceney made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 21st minute of play. Bérenger Pilet kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Broderick Ceney showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 26th minute of the match. Julio Vera was a little too slow when Waldemar Gierlach got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 28th minute. The score was now 1-1. Pavel Buculeasa's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pavel Buculeasa helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Champions Iasi getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Pavel Buculeasa hit a great ball. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Broderick Ceney showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Broderick Ceney breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Waldemar Gierlach in the 91st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Ecuador had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
