Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Daniel Zorita got the match started through his kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 6th minute of play forced SAN LORENZO FC's goalkeeper Dario Astigar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lisandro Nuñez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lisandro Nuñez got free with Julio Vera in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 15th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dario Astigar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dario Astigar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. 26 minutes into the game, Lisandro Nuñez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Dario Astigar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lisandro Nuñez might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lisandro Nuñez ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 36th minute, Lisandro Nuñez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 37th minute, Felix Montenegro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lisandro Nuñez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Shao Zhen Xiao charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Shao Zhen Xiao the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to SAN LORENZO FC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Shao Zhen Xiao hit a great ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When Artur Quintas fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SAN LORENZO FC's protests and gave Artur Quintas a yellow card for diving instead. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Dario Astigar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 57th minute, Lisandro Nuñez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 59th minute, Lisandro Nuñez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Lisandro Nuñez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Lisandro Nuñez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lisandro Nuñez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Lisandro Nuñez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. SAN LORENZO FC made a substitution. Isaias Rosario replaced Ernie Siegel. SAN LORENZO FC made a substitution. Ciriaco Cordarrell replaced Lisandro Nuñez.
