An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 6th minute of play forced Woopbongo's goalkeeper Valter Wallgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edgar Albohm scored 1-0 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Woopbongo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tim Månsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Woopbongo's goalkeeper Valter Wallgren, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 15 minutes into the game, Ola Håkansson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. Ola Håkansson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ola Håkansson in the 19th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Ola Håkansson put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. 25 minutes into the game, Tim Månsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Woopbongo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. In the 25th minute, Tim Månsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A sloppy throw-in by Guillermo Mariano in the 31st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Woopbongo's André Törnqvist. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ola Håkansson in the 35th minute of play. Ola Håkansson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 47 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. Valter Wallgren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 70 minutes into the game, Guillermo Mariano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Woopbongo the free kick. In the 73rd minute of the match Woopbongo got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Edgar Albohm ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Woopbongo's Edgar Albohm to fire away a dangerous shot which Jonathan Ferrant despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ola Håkansson in the 75th minute of the match. In the 78th minute, Ola Håkansson made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. 尤青文 hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Tomas Illescas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 85thth minute, Valter Wallgren skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 90th minute, Ola Håkansson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Woopbongo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Woopbongo fans cheered their team off the field, for while Venezuela had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
