To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 9 minutes into the match, Erdeniz Karadeniz notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 12th minute Ali Numan Afak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. In the 18thth minute of the game Ali Numan Afak who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Carlos Baptista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 26th minute of the match. Ali Numan Afak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. When the match clock showed 73 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Ali Numan Afak sped through Ecuador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vera. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ali Numan Afak in the 76th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ali Numan Afak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Luis Andino slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Carlos Baptista. That made the score 3-2 after 78 minutes of play. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Carlos Baptista despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Luis Andino got a free kick in the 96th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ecuador players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for ЧΙ ƝƖ̇ƘƠMЄƊƖ̇ƛ ƑƘ.
