After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Wiliam Moura kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. When Alex Chicote fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Alex Chicote a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Alex Chicote hit a great ball. Andi Jovanović scored 2-0 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
