After having played for 11 minutes, Elpidio Espiridion managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. LA IMPRENTA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elpidio Espiridion was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. LA IMPRENTA made a substitution. Ricardo Bertoni replaced Bruno Sepúlveda. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Bernardino Mark showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 17th minute of the match. Bernardino Mark showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. The supporters of Ecuador booed when LA IMPRENTA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alejandro Berto didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricardo Bertoni in the 56th minute of play. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Bernardino Mark made a huge save. 63 minutes into the game, Elpidio Espiridion cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elpidio Espiridion, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 78th match minute, LA IMPRENTA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alvaro Loria to maneuver through the defense. Bernardino Mark showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Elpidio Espiridion put it in 3-1 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. LA IMPRENTA were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
