In the 8th minute, Abraham Alguacil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Eliseo Mano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Mano in the 12th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute of the match Panama got a corner. Fajteri's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Abraham Alguacil ran over to the corner to take the kick. Abraham Alguacil made a great header on Panama's corner, it was just that Fajteri's Kostja Vertot managed to reach the ball for a save. Panama were awarded a corner in the 16th minute after Fajteri's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Abraham Alguacil took the corner. A very nice done corner allowed Miguel Miralles to score against Kostja Vertot in Fajteri's goal. 0-1 after 17 minutes. Isidoro Sarmiento struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Kostja Vertot didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Panama. Eliseo Mano blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcos Cotilla having to make a save. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Mano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eliseo Mano might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcos Cotilla. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eliseo Mano ran back to his position shaking his head. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Mano, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. After a rather tough play, Panama's Felipe Ros got a free kick in the 34th minute. Thomas Filipović recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Abraham Alguacil received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Kostja Vertot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 38 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Jose Carita.

The wind increased when Tomas Berganza made the kick off in the second half. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Mano in the 53rd minute of play. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Mano, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Kostja Vertot made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abraham Alguacil in the 62nd minute. Felipe Ros kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. The supporters of Fajteri booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felipe Ros didn't get a good kick on the ball. Armando Vogrinčič blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcos Cotilla having to make a save. 67 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Vogrinčič came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Fajteri's Kostja Vertot got control of the ball when Tomas Berganza tried to sneak it across the goal line. Miguel Miralles hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. In the 74th minute, Armando Vogrinčič ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcos Cotilla was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Milisav Kovše sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Tiburcio Abadie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 87 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Felipe Ros. The supporters of Panama booed when Fajteri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rugerij Vovk didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kostja Vertot having to interfere. Kostja Vertot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
