In the 10th minute, Club Atlético Magallanes's Jan Sierocki ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Pedro Manzanares. Pedro Manzanares yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. In the 16th minute Orlando Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jimeno Nevada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Manzanares made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Gavino Rami sent off a good shot on target. In the 22ndth minute of the game Abram Sarmiento who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Atlético Magallanes's Jimeno Nevada was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Colombia booed when Club Atlético Magallanes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serafin Hug didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan Sierocki in the 29th minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gavino Rami to strike the kick off in the second half. Club Atlético Magallanes's Manoel Barros was substituted for Tadeo Precioso. If Axel Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. Abram Sarmiento's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jimeno Nevada read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Ma Peng Yuan in the 85th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Colombia's Kevin Mastache. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ignacio Mastache in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jimeno Nevada prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Gavino Rami came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Club Atlético Magallanes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gavino Rami couldn't finish the play.
