The Cosmos 1984 NewDance fans' excitement grew in the 14th match minute when Cosmos 1984 NewDance's Zbyszko Walkowski looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ivan Navarro made in the 17th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Sebastian Villa. In the 18th minute Edmundo Espiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Józef Wandzik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 19 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cosmos 1984 NewDance's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Edmundo Espiga was slow to take the kick. During this time Honduras's players had a chance to rest. Honduras's Edmundo Espiga was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Józef Wandzik in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 24th minute Przemyslaw Przybylo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 29th minute of play forced Cosmos 1984 NewDance's goalkeeper Józef Wandzik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Honduras getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Esteban Carvallo hit a great ball. Zbyszko Walkowski recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Sebastian Villa came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastian Villa couldn't finish the play. In the 42ndth minute of the game Przemyslaw Przybylo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Honduras's Lautaro Navarro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Przemyslaw Przybylo made a kick off. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tymoteusz Rakowski in the 54th minute of play. Milagros Cabal tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Lautaro Navarro. An unnecessary self made goal, 3-0 in the 56th minute. 62 minutes into the match, Edmundo Espiga notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Cosmos 1984 NewDance's Józef Wandzik. Józef Wandzik was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cosmos 1984 NewDance made a substitution. Thanasis Lillis replaced Kryspin Sala. The supporters of Cosmos 1984 NewDance booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Ocampo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cosmos 1984 NewDance's Remigiusz Barys was substituted for Milosz Ikalewicz. Honduras's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
