Alberto Andreola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Puig, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 32 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Alcocer. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edoardo Rinaldi's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. In the 34th minute, Alfonso Aloisi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 35thth minute of the game Edoardo Rinaldi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 39 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Juan Rubio. Alfonso Aloisi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47th minute Alfonso Aloisi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 47th minute, Eliseo Noboa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edoardo Rinaldi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Edoardo Rinaldi made the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes Valdieri got a freekick which was hit by Anfilogino Di Santo. Juan Rubio kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Edoardo Rinaldi struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Valdieri. In the 63rd minute of the match Eraldo Ippoliti shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Sanz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aaron Alcocer got free with Alberto Andreola in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 81st match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexander Carballo to maneuver through the defense. Dennis Berardo scored 4-1 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Edoardo Rinaldi scored 5-1 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfonso Aloisi couldn't finish the play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Valdieri fully deserved thier win.
