Waldemar Klimkiewicz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Waldemar Klimkiewicz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hector Covarrubias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 12 minutes had been played when some careless play by ACR SA's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jaime Pardo was slow to take the kick. During this time Paraguay's players had a chance to rest. Waldemar Klimkiewicz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xavier Zoido in the 14th minute of the match. After the first half Paraguay were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rafal Starogardzki was the one to do the kick off. Waldemar Klimkiewicz made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Jaime Pardo sent off a good shot on target. When the match was over Paraguay could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than ACR SA throughout the match.
