To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Turgut Soyuer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but 박 서문 was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. 박 서문 showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Turgut Soyuer in the 12th minute of the match. In the 28th minute, Turkey's Turgut Soyuer dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Turkey's Behzat Tanyeli managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by 김 용 in the 32 minute of the game. 35 minutes had been played when some careless play by South Korea's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Servet Sönmez was slow to take the kick. During this time Turkey's players had a chance to rest. An unexpectedly hard shot by 이 석 in the 45th minute of play forced Turkey's goalkeeper Cankut Wakabayashi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46th minute Klaas Jan Vennegoor Of Hesselink shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cankut Wakabayashi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Turkey's supporters crossed their fingers, but Turgut Soyuer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Turkey's Zé Dos Reis was substituted for Turgut Soyuer. In the 82nd minute 김 준 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cankut Wakabayashi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 87 minutes into the game, Zé Dos Reis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. 박 서문 was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zé Dos Reis in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck 박 서문 prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Turkey's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Servet Sönmez in the 95th minute. A well done corner resulted in Cuma Oruk drilling the ball in to score 6-0 behind South Korea's goalkeeper. Turkey were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of South Korea for a fine match.
