The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Pepe Bomba came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Sancho in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eurico lago saved FC Beatriz 08 from getting behind. 10 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Barto Sánchez. Eurico lago made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 11th minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, FC Beatriz 08's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Eurico lago reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 20 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eurico lago showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pepe Bomba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Beatriz 08's Eurico lago played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 31st minute of play. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Barto Sánchez's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Julio Vera firmly grabbed it by the left post. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Camilo Gisbert's late challenge caught a FC Beatriz 08's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. When Márcio Cordeiro fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Beatriz 08's protests and gave Márcio Cordeiro a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to FC Beatriz 08 getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when FC Beatriz 08 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodrigo Fonseca didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rui Eanes hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Beatriz 08's goalkeeper Eurico lago, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luz Palacio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
