After a defensive mix-up in Gold Raiders FC's zone, Joshua Secada stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Muzaffer Sufi came out of the goal and Joshua Secada tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 48 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Tomas Illescas. After the first half Venezuela were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. Muzaffer Sufi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. 97 minutes into the game, Tomas Illescas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Muzaffer Sufi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Venezuela's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
