Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. The audience thought a goal was coming when Damian Urki got free with Julio Vera in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Zorita in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Guto Taffarel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 9th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustín Saelices to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aki Guardo in the 10th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Guto Taffarel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aki Guardo in the 13th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aki Guardo scored 2-0 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Ecuador booed when LUIZ PANATO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Luiz Paiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 24th minute of play forced LUIZ PANATO's goalkeeper Guto Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in LUIZ PANATO's zone, Agustín Saelices stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guto Taffarel came out of the goal and Agustín Saelices tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zhao Yue Cheng in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. In the 39th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Zorita to maneuver through the defense.

Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 55 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gualter Camargo was slow to take the kick. During this time LUIZ PANATO's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on LUIZ PANATO's corner Gualter Camargo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. 61 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Aki Guardo came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Guto Taffarel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. LUIZ PANATO's Guto Taffarel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save LUIZ PANATO from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Aki Guardo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. After a rather tough play, LUIZ PANATO's Pedro Luiz Paiva got a free kick in the 74th minute. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Antonio Arias hit a great ball. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zhao Yue Cheng, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. With a little luck, LUIZ PANATO's Guto Taffarel got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zhao Yue Cheng in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. The supporters of Ecuador booed when LUIZ PANATO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tostão Reis didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 87 in the game by Cristian Sancho from a close distance when the talented Guto Taffarel managed to make a qualified save. LUIZ PANATO's players were relieved. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 88th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Guto Taffarel could save by the left post. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damian Urki in the 89th minute of play. Zhao Yue Cheng recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Guto Taffarel made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. LUIZ PANATO's Guto Taffarel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save LUIZ PANATO from getting a goal against them. Luis Andino was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post.
