Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Afiz Ching read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 4th minute of play. 9 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Afiz Ching made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tedj Sellal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bolivar's Afiz Ching played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 23rd minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Tedj Sellal came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 36 minutes had been played when some careless play by Bolivar's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. In the 37th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustín Saelices to maneuver through the defense. Bolivar's Afiz Ching played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 42nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Antonio Arias got a free kick in the 47th minute. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 51 played minutes Bolivar got a freekick which was hit by Brett Cordrey. In the 57th minute, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Bolivar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Senijad Ibričić didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 61st minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afiz Ching saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 63 minutes into the match, Bolivar's goalkeeper Afiz Ching had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felix Montenegro. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brett Cordrey, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 72nd minute Brett Cordrey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The goalkeeper, Afiz Ching, was totally fooled by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita, who 75 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. When Mahieddine Zitouni fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bolivar's protests and gave Mahieddine Zitouni a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Bolivar getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Mahieddine Zitouni hit a great ball. 81 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Afiz Ching, 0-4. 85 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of Bolivar's Afiz Ching. Afiz Ching was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Through an outstanding action, after 88 minutes, Afiz Ching successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 90 minutes had been played when some careless play by Bolivar's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Afiz Ching in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 95 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Senijad Ibričić came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Bolivar fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
