In the 9th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Radu Corocăescu having to interfere. In the 14th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Radu Corocăescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Radu Corocăescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Koulis Kouloucheris tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 25 minutes, Stamatis Tsilikas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kerkyra FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stamatis Tsilikas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Radu Corocăescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita scored 0-1 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Radu Corocăescu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Radu Corocăescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 34th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Radu Corocăescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Radu Corocăescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zlatan Messi made a kick off. In the 58th minute Erli Haaland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 62 played minutes Kerkyra FC got a freekick which was hit by Thalis Kokkolakis. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Radu Corocăescu made a huge save. After 65 minutes Kerkyra FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erli Haaland in the 69th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 71st minute of the match Kerkyra FC got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Erli Haaland ran over to the corner to take the kick. When Kerkyra FC's Zlatan Messi in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. Kerkyra FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Erli Haaland in the 79th minute. Stamatis Tsilikas hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Agustín Saelices's late challenge caught a Kerkyra FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Agustín Saelices helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Agustín Saelices hit a great ball. Kerkyra FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Ecuador had controlled the match.
