Maximino Berto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 9th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristian Sancho in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maximino Berto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 25th minute of the match, Cleto Firmin got a very nice opportunity to score, but Julio Vera was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. A.K.Sh Albania's Maximino Berto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 35th minute of play. Maximino Berto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 38 minutes had been played when some careless play by A.K.Sh Albania's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nertil Ramos to make the kick off. Bernabe Odon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nertil Ramos, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Maximino Berto came out of the goal and Luis Andino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alesandro Nesta during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alesandro Nesta hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Daniel Zorita, 89 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Besart Pango blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Maximino Berto made a huge save. Ecuador were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
